Purple’s Big Adventure at Palmetto Dunes

After a wonderful Hilton Head vacation at Palmetto Dunes, a family returned to Ohio recently, but realized they accidentally left behind Purple, their daughter’s beloved stuffed cat. The guests reached out to Palmetto Dunes Guest Services to see if Purple had been found in their vacation rental. A Property Manager then visited the unit and found Purple patiently waiting there. Before returning home, Purple ventured out to tour the resort and take lots of photos for the family! The family’s daughter would see that Purple had a great time after being left behind. Palmetto Dunes Employees created Purple’s Big Adventure picture book for Purple to take back to her family. The Front Desk Team Guides Purple Through a Fun-Filled Day of Island Adventure  

Purple’s Adventure began at the Welcome Center with a Palmetto Dunes resort map. Purple received a friendly welcome and helpful directions from Guest Services.

First, Purple stopped for some sweet treats at the Palmetto Dunes General Store in the heart of Palmetto Dunes Resort. Purple highly recommends trying the cinnamon roll!

It’s just a short ride over from the General Store to the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course to play a round.

And Purple had a fun ride in the golf ball picker at Palmetto Dunes Toptracer Range by one of the Range Attendants. 

Next, Purple took a kayak trip on the 11-mile lagoon system at Hilton Head Outfitters & Bike Rentals and then hitched a bike ride with Palmetto Dunes’ Content & Communications Coordinator. 

Purple Rests and Recharges on the Palmetto Dunes Beach   

Purple soaked up some afternoon sun with Turtle at the beach – then enjoyed a refreshing Frozen Fruit Smoothie at The Dunes House oceanfront restaurant. 

After the peaceful beach break, Purple got back in the action at the Palmetto Dunes Pickleball & Tennis Center. She met up with one of Palmetto Dunes’ great pickleball pros, for a helpful lesson!

Purple took a few steps over to the tennis courts to watch a lesson, taught by Palmetto Dunes’ Director of Tennis Instruction. 

Purple Savors the Day with an Ice Cream Cone at the Palmetto Dunes General Store  

As the day was coming to an end, Purple shared an ice cream cone with a new friend at the Palmetto Dunes General Store. An ice cream trip here is a favorite memory made by many guests! 

Purple loved Palmetto Dunes so much that she stopped by Dunes Real Estate to look into becoming a future property owner! 

All in all Purple had a great time at Palmetto Dunes and was happy to make it back safe. The Palmetto Dunes Guests parents said, “This is one of the most kind, & thoughtful things. We all loved seeing Purple’s adventures. Our daughter was thrilled. She told us, she has never been in a kayak or at the beach or to the General Store. You made her day. We can’t thank you enough for going above and beyond.”
